Genesis Energy Office-based COVID-19 Practices

Energy Office-based Employee COVID-19 Practices

The following requirements are in effect for unvaccinated, office-based employees working at Genesis offices in the Gulf Coast area. If local Genesis management has imposed stricter requirements, those should apply. If you have any questions, contact your supervisor or HSSE management.

Effective September 13, 2021:

  • Each week, unvaccinated employees working in a Genesis office are required to provide a negative COVID-19 test result.  Your weekly test results will be due on the following day of the week:
Last Name Begins With: Results Due Day: Clears you to work in the office:
A – E Monday Monday – Sunday
F – M Tuesday Tuesday – Monday
N – Z Wednesday Wednesday – Tuesday

If possible, it’s recommended you turn in your results 24 hours in advance of your ‘Results Due Day” by emailing it to HSSE (C19Testing@genlp.com).

  • The test must be:
    • Completed within 3 days before arrival.
    • Obtained during non-work hours.
    • Be returned to HSSE at C19Testing@genlp.com before entry to the Genesis work-site.
  • If an unvaccinated employee does not plan to be present in the office when their test results are typically due because of a  holiday, PTO or other reasons, then the employee must provide the test results before on or the day before their next office work day.
  • Employees who do not submit a timely test result are not permitted to work remotely due to failure to comply with this safety protocol and are required to use PTO for hours of work missed until a negative test result is provided as described above.

 FINDING COVID-19 TESTING SITES

Per the federal government, COVID-19 testing is free.  You also have access to free COVID-19 testing using your Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) medical plan and an in-network provider.  Testing sites may include health departments, pharmacies, free standing laboratories, primary care physicians, and urgent cares. If you get tested using your BCBSTX insurance at an out-of-network facility, like a free standing emergency room, you will be responsible for the full cost.

Use this abbreviated list below to find convenient, in-network providers for COVID-19 testing.  Appointments are required so be sure to schedule your test at least 3 – 4 days in advance. Availability is limited in some locations so don’t wait until the last minute!

Click on the testing facility below to get started:

Also check with your local health department for area test sites (listed here).

To access a full list of available in-network diagnostic facilities, check out www.bcbstx.com website or use their ‘Provider Finder’ tool on your BCBSTX mobile app.

Using the BCBSTX App to find a provider:

  • Open the App and click on “Find Care In Network”
  • Click on “Launch Provider Finder”
  • Click inside the search bar and then choose Medical Care > Diagnostic and Other Medical Services > Laboratory
  • It will pull up the best match based on your location.
  • You may change the location or filter the list as needed.
